Call for patent disclosure:

No one declared a patent.

Opens:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
An AR for Ambrish was missed in the previous minutes. Ambrish was asked
to complete a Microsoft Windows* version of the Cadence RX executable
KIT for posting to the website.

Mike Steinberger noted that he completed a BIRD review and sent some
additional suggestions to the reflector.

-----
ARs:

No activity on items other than review of current BIRD text.

New Discussion:

Arpad distributed a text version of BIRD, after holding an offline
discussion with Bob Ross regarding IBIS specification style issues.

Editing was performed "live" on the BIRD, based on comments from the
participants as documented below.

Arpad: Minor edits needed on indents for formats and types
Don: A typo appears on "objects" just after introduction
Bob: "ex" used improperly in place of "e.g."
Mike: Alignment of elipses for Model Parameter File should be made
         consistent

The Parameter File section now uses Mike's new suggestions for
tap descriptions, based on suggestions from Ambrish. The
specification needs to keep tap definitions consistent with
other types, but add information. The name of the tap weight is
its number, and its value can be applied to the parameter with
         that name.

Ambrish: Using Mike's suggestions, change the Definitions section so that
the tap number is no longer called an argument.

Don: Can tapped delay lines have other than UI spacing? Is this
required? Mike suggested this is rare, but possible. The BIRD
         implies alignment with the UI.

Walter: Non-UI-aligned tapped delay lines are not precluded. User-defined
parameters may override alignment. However, EDA tool optimization
is not automatic using user-defined parameters, so this could be a
problem for a future BIRD to resolve.

Ambrish: The example text for tx_freq_offset should be changed to 1 0 150.

Bob: [End Algorithmic Model] should not appear by itself with additional
comment. Examples should not feature comment character at start of
         line.

Arpad: In Section 10, underlines were inserted under some sections for
emphasis. Numbering in this section to remain the same as shown in
         today's draft.

Arpad also removed semicolons and reformatted text around areas where
         semicolons appeared.

Mike: No capitalization of C code.

Arpad will clean up the ending of the document and provide a review copy to the
team. If no significant comments emerge, he will forward this to Michael for
formal entry as a BIRD.

Next meeting: 16 Oct 2007 12:00pm PT
